You have to take the trim panel off of the inside of the tailgate. Not just the removable section across the middle, but the whole thing. There are a series of screws that hold the tail light assembly to the back of the tailgate. You need to undo all of the nuts on the inside to release the tail light assembly, and be sure to unplug the harness as you remove it. The pressure switch is bolted behind the tail light assembly. Once you have the assembly out of the way, just fish the plug for the switch down and out with the switch. Change the switch and put it all back together.
Pull the door panel off, remove the door latch assembly from inside the door, and replace the switch which is hold onto the latch with one screw on the backside of the latch.
The door light switch for these cars is in the door latch. It is not visible by opening the door and examining the latch. If the switch is not functioning you will have to replace the latch. I have heard of cases when doors are slammed too hard that the wire connector comes loose.
To replace the door ajar switch on a 2010 Ford F-150, first ensure the vehicle is off and disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues. Locate the switch, typically found in the door latch assembly within the door. Remove the door panel to access the latch, disconnect the old switch, and replace it with the new one. Reassemble the door panel and reconnect the battery, then test the switch to ensure it functions correctly.
May be a BCM glitch or the rear trunk latch there is a recall from gm about the rear hatch latch
Replace it with a new or used one.
I have dealt with this problem before at our bodyshop. Basically, a spring inside the latch has broke, and now there is no way to release the latch, even by manually pulling on the release lever at the latch. Prepare to replace the latch, as it is not repairable. Be prepared to be working inside the car. To make it easier to work, unbolt the seat, and remove from the car. Remove the door panel, and also the door handle. You will have to chisel at the plastic part of the latch, and break it off bit by bit. Eventually you will be able to release the latch. good luck
If the switch is concealed in the door latch--(common problem) Spray door latch liberally with WD40 open and close door many times--then spray with silicone should solve problem If not in door latch- could be faulty light switch or wire grounding somewhere in door switch remove, replace and check wiring
Best left to a gunsmith.
