This job is about as basic as it appears to be. Pull old plug wires off at each end, push new plug wires on.
You will, however want to take note of plug wire lengths. Some will probably be longer than others due to a difference in distance between the plug and the distributor or coil pack.
Also, don't pull all of the wires off at the same time! Replace them one at a time to avoid wiring the right plug to the wrong coil pack or distributor terminal. (or vice versa) If you do accidentally mix them up, you'll know as soon as you start the car ... if it starts at all.
Very slowly and carefully and ONE at a time.
No you don't. Find out the recommended spark gap, and then just take them out and replace them one at a time to avoid mixing up the wires.
To replace the spark plug wires on a 1996 Ford Aerostar, start by ensuring the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the old spark plug wires one at a time to avoid confusion, noting their positions. Install the new wires by connecting them to the spark plugs and the ignition coil in the correct order, ensuring a snug fit. Finally, reconnect the battery terminal and start the engine to check for proper operation.
Replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, spark plug rotor & distributor, put in new air filter & change the fuel filter.
