In order to put a serpentine belt on, you have to relieve the tension pulley. You can do it yourself if you have a breaker bar to loosen tension pulley. don't just put it by hand because the belts need to be tighten in order to work. if it was just the acessory belt(alternator,Power Steering) you could drive to a mechanic with out it.this may be a little hard to do without power steering if you driving a heavy vehicle. if you could get it on by hand , and in the proper routing , all you need to do is tighten it (belt tensioner) and you'll be alright. but on ''SOME''older vehicles (1985 BMW for ex) when the power steering pump goes out so does your brake booster, youR brake pedal willbe impossible to press.
I'm not much of a mechanic but, it may be too loose.
The serpentine belt would be the same as the accessory drive belt.
You can change the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
Yes a loose or badly worn belt will not drive the compressor correctly and then the belt will break
i brought my car to mechanic they install the serpentine belt # 950k6 is that the right belt
If the belt is too loose or not there then yes - the water pump runs off the serpentine belt. If the belt is too loose or not there then yes - the water pump runs off the serpentine belt.
You don't. Serpentine belts are adjusted by a spring loaded device called a belt tensioner. If you belt is loose, then the tensioner is broken.
Not if you have a serpentine drive belt............
the 4g63t does not have a serpentine belt, it has drive beltS
Accessory drive belt.Accessory drive belt.
Loose or worn A/C drive belt. Tighten or replace. If serpentine belt, replace.
What do you mean by drive belt. If your talking about the serpentine belt, it should have an auto tensioner. Same goes for the timing belt. There is no adjustment. If the belt is loose then it needs to be replaced. ed724
