Yes the crankshaft for say a 350 4 bolt and a 350 2 bolt is the same the only dif is in the block itself. Just make sure to check bearings to make sure the cranks are the same for bearings and have not been turned that would be the only dif in crank shafts the size should be on the bearings std., .001, .010 .020 and so on

Does the Toyota 18R have the same gearbox bolt pattern as the 21R engine?

The bolt pattern is the same, but the 21R engine has 2 locator dowels, which must be accurately marked and drilled on the gearbox, if it has come from an 18R. The bolt pattern on the crankshaft end are not the same, so the flywheels are not interchangable.

Is a lt1 350 the same as a 1976 350 block?

The block, itself, for the LT-1 in 70, was nothing special, other than a 4 bolt main cap. Now, the serial numbers, and casting date will be different, and will eliminate any "numbers matching" type of thing, but, other than that, if the 76 is a four bolt main, then yeah, they are the same.

Is a crankshaft sensor and crankshaft position sensor the same?

Yes they are the same.

Can you tell if a engine is a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main by the block number?

quick answer is NO, 2 and 4 bolt main engines both had the same casting numbers. you have to pull the oil pan to be 100% sure.

How do you install a harmonic balancer on a Buick Century?

I just use the crankshaft bolt to squeeze it back on. Just line up the groove in the harmonic balancer to the key in the crankshaft and slip it on until it's snug. Screw in the crankshaft bolt and tighten it down. The more you tighten, the more it will push the harmonic balancer. Warning! The crankshaft bolt must screw in freely at least five or six turns before you can begin tightening it. If the bolt ain't long enough then you will have to find one the same size, but just a little longer or you could face an unholy nightmare if you strip the bolt out. Use the long one if you have to to get the balancer pushed on a bit. Then, switch back to the original bolt and finish tightening. Good Luck and Good Day!

How do you install a harmonic balancer on a 2003 corvette?

Crankshaft Balancer ReplacementTools Required* J41816 Crankshaft Balancer Remover * J41316-2 Crankshaft End Protector * J42386-A Flywheel Holding Tool * J41665 Crankshaft Balancer and Sprocket Installer * J36660-A Torque Angle Meter Removal Procedure# Remove the Air Conditioning (A/C) drive belt.# Remove the power steering gear. # Remove the starter motor.# Remove the right transmission cover and bolt. Notice:Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Important:Make sure that the teeth of the flywheel holding tool mesh with the teeth of the engine flywheel. # Install the J42386-A and bolts. Use one M10-1.5 x 120 mm and one M10-1.5 x 45 mm bolt for proper tool operation Tighten the J42386-A bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).# Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt. Do not discard the crankshaft balancer bolt. The balancer bolt will be used during the balancer installation procedure. Important: For manual transmission applications, note the position of the crankshaft balancer before removal. The balancer does not use a key or keyway for positioning. Mark or scribe the end of the crankshaft and the balancer before removal. If replacing the crankshaft balancer, note the location of any existing balance weights (if applicable). Install new balance weights into the new crankshaft balancer (if applicable) in the same location as the old balancer. A properly installed balance weight will be either flush or below flush with the face of the balancer.# Mark or scribe the crankshaft balancer and the end of the crankshaft. Note the balancer installed position on the crankshaft for assembly.# Use the J38416-Band the J41816-2 in order to remove the crankshaft balancer. # Remove the J38416-B and the J41816-2 from the crankshaft balancer.# Not the position of any crankshaft balancer weights (if applicable). # Clean and inspect the crankshaft balancer. Installation ProcedureImportant:* The used crankshaft balancer bolt will be used only during the first pass on the balancer installation procedure. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt, and tighten as described in the second, third and fourth passes of the balancer bolt tightening procedure. * The crankshaft balancer installation and bolt tightening involves a four stage tightening process. The first pass ensures that the balancer is installed completely onto the crankshaft. The third, and fourth passes tighten the new bolt to the proper torque.# Using the old balancer as a reference, mark or scribe the NEW balancer in the same location (if required). # Install balance weights into the NEW balancer (if required). Important:Align the scribe mark on the balancer with the scribe mark on the crankshaft. The balancer should be positioned onto the end of the crankshaft as straight as possible, prior to tool installation. # Install the balancer onto the end of the crankshaft.# Use the J41665 in order to install the crankshaft balancer. 4.1. Assemble the threaded rod, nut, washer and installer.Insert the smaller end of the installer into the frame of the balancer. 4.2. Use a wrench and hold the hex end of the threaded rod. 4.3. Use a second wrench and rotate the installation tool nut clockwise until the balancer is started onto the crankshaft.4.4. Remove the tool and reverse the installation tool.Position the larger end of the installer against the front of the balancer. 4.5. Use a wrench and hold the hex end of the threaded rod. 4.6. Use a second wrench and rotate the installation tool nut clockwise until the balancer is installer onto the crankshaft. 4.7. Remove the balancer installation tool.# Install the used crankshaft balancer bolt. Tighten the used crankshaft balancer bolt to 330 Nm (240 ft. lbs.). # Remove the used crankshaft balancer bolt. Important: The nose of the crankshaft should be recessed 2.40 - 4.48 mm (0.094 - 0.176 inch) into the balancer bore. # Measure for a correctly installer balancer. If the balancer is not installed to the proper dimensions, install the J41665 and repeat the installation procedure.# Install the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt. 8.1. Tighten the new crankshaft balancer bolt a first pass to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). 8.2. Tighten the new crankshaft balancer bolt a second pass to 140 degrees using the J36660-A.# Remove the J42386-A and bolts.# Install the right transmission cover and bolt. Tighten the right transmission cover bolt to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.). # Install the starter motor. # Install the power steering gear. # Install the A/C drive belt. # Perform the crankshaft position (CKP) system variation learn procedure.
