The switch is located on the driver side of the transmission. right where the shift linkage joins the tranny.
Yes
I am having the same problem I was thinking more ignition switch, but like your idea more
There is no neutral safety switch on a 85 fiero with a manual transmission. There is a clutch pedal switch under the dash. The car will start in any gear, as long as the clutch pedal is depressed.
To replace the neutral switch on a 1985 Jeep Wagoneer, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Locate the neutral safety switch, usually positioned on the transmission, and remove the electrical connector and the mounting bolts. Install the new switch by reversing the removal process, ensuring it is properly aligned, and reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, reattach the battery and test the vehicle to ensure proper functionality.
Drivers Side, transmission below shift linkage
It mostly is your neutral safety switch i had the same problem good luck
Remove the retaining ring at the top of your 1985 Chevy ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.
It doesn't have a headlamp fuse. They have a circuit breaker built into the headlamp switch.
Had the same problem - neutral safety switch was my problem.
Could be a bad starter solenoidCould be a bad neutral or clutch safety switch if so equipped
on the fire wall under the dash board under the upper floor matt
It could be a dead battery, or corroded or otherwise faulty battery connections. Cables not tight enough for example. The starter motor could have failed. The starter solenoid may have failed. The starter switch may have failed. The gear selector not in Park or Neutral. Neutral Safety switch bad. Other wiring issues.
