Most often, low transmission fluid.
hard fault code What is a hard fault code?
Start with plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Also check fuel pressure.
Its either your cam shaft position sensor or the crank sensor.
the coolant temperature sensor could be faulty.......
could be maybe a bad fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. maybe! i can tell you exactly what the problem is without a doubt. i just bought this car 2001 olds intrigue 3.5 shortly after i noticed it acted like it didnt want to start my father in law is a mechanic and hooked his machine to my car got the code and realised it was the crank sensor. you need to replace this i got one at auto zone for $61.99. the problem is the sensor isn't reconizing when to crank
In order of probability: Low or incorrect fluid, over-revving engine while shifting, valve body issues (including solenoid failures)
A hard cold start on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 liter engine can be caused by several factors, including a weak or failing battery, faulty fuel injectors, or issues with the fuel pump. Additionally, problems with the ignition system, such as worn spark plugs or ignition coils, can contribute to starting difficulties. Cold weather can exacerbate these issues, making it harder for the engine to start. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of worn components can help prevent cold start problems.
After All I'v been thru and spent, here is the answer to question " CRANK SENSOR". Been from dealer to dealer replace this, tighten that Hey part costed half of what the dealers or shop were asking and it really wasn't hard to replace. Good Start Up!
Maybe a throttle positioning sensor? Is it hard to start? Does it start then stall?
Check engine light on, no start, hard start, die off.
Timing needs adjustment is the most likely cause.
