The McQuay-Norris ball joint FA1679 is designed to fit various models of vehicles, primarily in the Ford and Lincoln lineups, particularly those from the 1990s. It is commonly used in suspension systems to provide flexibility and support while allowing for smooth movement. For specific vehicle compatibility, it's essential to consult a detailed application chart or the manufacturer's specifications.

How do you fit on ball joint on Renault megane?

To fit a ball joint on a Renault Megane, first, lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel, then disconnect the tie rod end and any components obstructing access to the ball joint. Use a ball joint separator to detach the old joint from the control arm, and install the new ball joint by pressing it into place, ensuring it’s properly seated. Finally, reassemble the components in reverse order, torqueing all bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.

How do you change a balljoint on a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 gt?

I am not familiar with this car in particular but ball joints are either pressed in, bolted, or riveted into the control arms. On top of the ball joint is the steering knuckle, usually the ball joint is held into the steering knuckle with a pinch bolt. Which is easily removed. After the pinch bolt is removed you must force the control arm away from the steering knuckle which sometimes requires the use of an air hammer. Depending on what type of fit the control arm has with the ball joint, you will either need a special tool to press out the old ball joint and press in the new one, if the ball join is a press fit. Or if it is riveted you will have to carefully drill out the rivets and replace the new one with bolts. If it is bolted in you simply loosen the bolts and knock out the old ball joint. Installation is reverse.

We cannot get the lower ball joint loose on my Hyundai elantra 2000.... is there a trick?

Ball joints have a slight "interference" fit when tightened, and that makes them stubborn breaking them loose. The first, best, way to remove them is with a ball joint removal tool you can most likely rent or borrow from your local auto parts store. Failing that, a good size hammer hit on the steering knuckle where the tapered end of the ball joint fastens will often break the tension enough to free the joint.

How do you replace the rear upper ball joint on a 2002 sebring?

You have to remove the rear tire and you will see the Rear ball joint pressure fit into a round bar the easiest way to get this out is to heat it with a blow torch and pound it with a hammer and chizzle. This should eventually pop it out and then the new one is much easier to replace.
