Hi, There are two fuse boxes in the '97 Tracker. One fuse box is under the hood in front of the battery, you can't miss it as it has the fuse markings on the top. he second fuse box is under the dash on the left kick panel, it also is marked and is a rectangular bos sitting the long way of the rectangle up. You should take a flashlight with you as it really is a bit difficult to see the box and it's insides without a light. The locations and sizes of each fuse is stamped on the inside of the cover, you just remove it and you'll see what's in there. There should be a fuse puller and some spare fuses on the inside of the cover. If the items are not there you need to grab a fuse that you suspect of being bad with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull carefully. To replace a fuse, just put the correct size in and push to firmly seat the fuse. If you have never taken a fuse out before you'll know if it's bad because the wire inside wil look burned and/or broken. Good luck and sorry it took me a while to get back. Steve H.
