Automatic, you fill down the dipstick tube. Manual, there is a plug that screws out of the side. That is the wrong answer for a manual. The plug on the side is the drain. WHERE IS THE FILL
Well for one, if it's a manual transmission...you don't. If it's an automatic transmisson, there is a drain plug right underneath the transmission. It's easy to see. wrong. there is no plug for transmission you have to remove the pan and replace the gasket. where the transmission plug should be will be a gear box if u remove that plug u will drain gear oil. -Josh
that all depends on what is wrong with it
Coud be linkage adjustment Or something internal
Drain out the transmission fluid and replace with the correct fluid. Some types of transmission fluid are incompatible with other types of tranmssion fluid or with the transmission itself, and can destroy your transmission.
It may have the wrong fluid in it.
You don't. It has a sealed transmission. If you think something is wrong with tranny you should take it to someone. Hopefully you don't need a new transmission.
Manual transmissions use a variety of oils: regular motor oil, heavyweight hypoid gear oil or even automatic transmission fluid in some cases. Your owner's manual will tell you what your transmission calls for. If you don't have an owner's manual, either get one or call your local Ford dealer for the proper lubricant. Using the wrong lubricant can cause serious damage to the transmission.
look you are going to drain the transmission pan clean up the seal and change the transmission filter and apply fresh transmissionfluid.
Depends on the vehicle and the transmission. The wrong thing in the transmission CAN RUIN IT, and the owner's manual for the vehicle will tell you exactly the right thing to use. NEVER substitute, even for just a short time.
It is a dealer check only. Dodge was having trouble with people adding too much or the wrong kind of transmission fluid so they removed the dip stick.
If your car has a manual transmission, and it over rev's in every other gear as well, than no doubt it is your clutch. Other wise it is your transmission.
