ABS stands for Anti-Lock Brake System... The system gathers data through sensors called the ABS Sensors. These sensors detect the speed at which each tire is rotating thereby allowing the system to kick in when the wheel(s) lock up. By pulsating the brakes (automatically), ABS prevents wheel lockup and restores steering control. These pulses can be up to 60 times per second and do not compromise the braking of the vehicle.
