your clutch packs are cooked
on the right side of the transmission above the pan is an electrical connector on the 4L60E and on the 700R4 there is a cable. this cable is the downshift cable which controls shift points which are electronic on the 4L60E
bad catalytic converter
The computer (ECM).
Yes it will fit, but it won't work... The 89 computer is not programed to the 4L60E transmission, Therefore the transmission will not shift are even work.
Blown fuse. Solenoid failure. Damaged wiring.
OnV6 4.3 with 4L60E transmission will faulty shift solenoid cause not to shift into high gear?
NO You can not. The compurter and wreing harness in the 1990 will not hook up are even shift the 4L60E transmission. You MUST put the 700R4 back in it.
It does not have a 3-4 shift solenoid. It has a 1-2 and 2-3 only. What you are calling 4 is overdrive, no solenoid.
To replace a shift solenoid in a 4L60E transmission, first, ensure the vehicle is safely lifted and supported. Disconnect the battery, then remove the transmission pan to access the solenoid; you may need to drain the transmission fluid. Locate the faulty shift solenoid, unclip or unscrew it, and replace it with the new solenoid. Reassemble the transmission pan, refill with fluid, and reconnect the battery before testing the transmission operation.
NO. The 89 model electronics will not shift the 96 transmission. It will not even begain to work. You should put the 700R4 back in it.
No it can not. It must have a computer of some kind to tell it when to shift up and down. I'm sure someone out there sells an aftermarket hot rod kit to make the trans. work.
