On a 1995 Ford Explorer ( automatic transmission )
You use a funnel and add Transmission Fluid through the dipstick tube
( it is located in the engine compartment , by the firewall , towards the
passenger side of the vehicle , where the transmission is bolted to the
rear of the engine )
YOU DONT
Down tube that holds trans dipstick.
Starting in 2002 the ford Explorer 4 door doesn't have an automatic transmission dipstick
as far as I know you can not add fluid because the trans. is a self enclosed trans.(if you have slippage, its time for repair.
DOT 3 brake fluid
no you can not tow a vehicle with an auto trans on a dolly if the drive axle is on the ground. the auto trans does not circulate fluid to the parts unless the engine is running.
Trans Dipstick
If you drain the Trans. AND Torque Converter you will need 10-12 QTS. of fluid
On a 1995 Ford Explorer : No ( at least my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT doesn't )
