that's not how you relese pressure on the caliper. you disconnect the brake fluid hose from the caliper and that will relese the pressure. if the caliper still won't move then you need to take the caliper apart and clean it good because the piston is most likely getting stuck.

How do you compress caliper piston?

To compress a caliper piston, you can use a brake caliper tool or a C-clamp. First, ensure the brake fluid reservoir cap is loosened to avoid pressure buildup. Then, position the tool or clamp against the piston and the back of the caliper, and slowly apply pressure until the piston is fully retracted. Be cautious not to damage the piston or the caliper during the process.

How do you remove the rear caliber in 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora when the rear brake is locked up?

removing caliper 1996 olds aurora lockedNote that many times the "locking" can be caused by a sticking e-brake cable rather than a locked caliper. Check to verify that there is some slack in the cable at the caliper when the parking brake is released. If not, the cable may be seized in its jacket somewhere, and will have to be freed or replaced. If the caliper is locked, you will need to disconnect the brake line to remove the line pressure. Then disconnect the e-brake cable, then the caliper. If it is still stuck, you will need to retract the piston inside the caliper - sometimes they stick and you have to lube the caliper and hit the caliper with a hammer lightly or it can crack. Another way is to CAREFULLY heat the caliper with a torch until the caliper expands and releases. If any question please e-mail me Ben. thejamesclan5@msn.com good luck!Don't try to re-use a caliper that has locked. While you may be able to free it temporarily, they almost always end up sticking again. The cost of a loaded new or remanufactured caliper assembly is cheap insurance against it sticking any time in the near future.

How do you get the caliper piston to go back in on a 1984 Chevy caprice classic I took the cap off the master cylinder and I tried to push it back in with a very big C clamp but it won't budge?

Sounds like the caliper is frozen. Probably needs to be rebuilt or replaced. If you decide to rebuild the caliper yourself make sure the bleeder screw comes loose without breaking off before rebuilding it, otherwise you can't bleed the air out of it when you're done. A rebuilt caliper from a parts store for an '84 caprice is real cheap anyway and it's easier and faster to just replace it.

HoW to remove rear caliper on 1995 Buick Riviera?

Remove the wheel to access the caliper, then detach the caliper by unbolting the caliper mounting bolts. After removing the bolts, slide the caliper off the brake rotor, and disconnect the brake line if necessary. Finally, support the caliper with a bungee cord or similar tool to avoid straining the brake line.
