Follow the brake lines coming off of the master cylinder which is located on top of the engine near the firewall on the driver's side... that should lead you to the proportioning valve which is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment nearest the underside and almost right up next to the radiator. You can see it from the top of the engine compartment if you have a flashlight.

However, if your car has 4 wheel disc brakes you won't find a proportioning valve. They are used only on brake systems with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
