Actually, it's located in the CCRM (constant control relay module) which is in behind the passenger front fender. It is a module with 5 relays (AC, Fuel pump, etc..). You can try to replace the relay ($10), the module used ($50-70) or buy brand new ccrm from Ford for $240. Your call. Get a wire diagram of the ccrm and replace the right relay if you go that route.
O'reilly's auto parts they call it a bwm controle relay module.give them the parts number and they will order you one. it runs about 80 or 90 bucks

You would have to buy a computer control module from
buy the new module. buy a manual for your car. buy needed tools. figure it out and replace it. OR take it to a shop. OR junk the car, cause it's probably not worth replacing that broken module.

The P0409 code indicates an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) circuit malfunction. It could be a bad EGR valve, a bad EGR optical sensor, a bad powertrain control module (PCM), or a bad electronic control Module (ECM), also referred to as the engine control module.
It does have an Ignition Control Module. It is mounted under the distributer cap by 2 screws and has wires plugged into it. they are $40-$60 dollars to buy from your local AutoZone, Napa, or O'Reily Auto Parts stores. Beware: you must remove airbox and hoses to get to the ICM and it is very difficult to get out after that anyhow.
remove module and remove top. have to sodder new bulbs in. or can buy one on eBay for about 30.00
