If the fan keeps running it's because it is electric and wired through a temperature switch not the ignition. Electric Fan running is independent of engine running. When the temperature is high enough to start the fan, it goes on. when the temp drops the fan goes off. Temp does not drop right away when the car is turned off. It can actually rise several degrees when the engine is turned off. The fan running after engine shut off is actually a good thing that may prevent radiator overflow
ANYTHING will fit into a 1983 Caprice Classic. Are you asking if it will bolt up to the tranny?
5L.
No
I believe so, but I'm not positive and I'm not a mechanic.
Needs a good tune up?
yes
In an '83, the chances are that you pull the knobs and unscrew the nuts they cover.
Drain the water from your 1983 Chevy Caprice Classic cooling system. Remove the heater core water supply hoses. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
The oil pump is located inside the oil pan at the rear of the engine. So, to replace the oil pump, one must remove the oil pan. This will require that the engine be lifted at least 4", if not pulled completely out of the engine bay.
