Synchronizer maybe. not sure if that's how you spell it. I grind a little downshifting into second but not when shifting into any other gears. A mechanic buddy told me that's probably what it was.
Not engaging clutch completely speed shifting ( badly ) Gear grinding Downshifting at high revs shifting without the clutch Anytime the gears are forced together or grind the ears on the syncro are worn down and wont fit together smoothly
Gears grind when trying to shift with the clutch pedal engaged due to improper disengagement of the clutch, which may not fully separate the engine from the transmission. This can occur if the clutch master cylinder is faulty, the clutch fluid is low or contaminated, or if there's air in the hydraulic system. Additionally, worn or damaged synchronizers can prevent smooth engagement of the gears. Ensuring proper clutch function is essential for smooth shifting.
You can (somewhat), BUT DO NOT DO IT!!!! You will grind gears and ruin your car. Shifting while in motion might look cool to do, but the bill to repair your car will not look cool.
your clutch may not be fully engaging
Sorry to say that you probably wrecked the syncro in some of the gears if it is only in between certain gears
Possibly bad synchronizers.
either your clutch is not disengaging completely or your synchro's are going or have gone bad. If you have a 4 cylinder model I'll bet it's the synchros, those ax5 transmissions are famously weak and suffer from synchro problems.
The transmission might grind on an '88 Dodge Colt because it is very low on transmission fluid. It might also grind because the gears are damaged or stripped.
syncro??
bad synco rings
Well how well do you shift if you grind your gears alot you are grinding ff the points on the gears hence its harder to put in gear.
