i am having the same problem with a 2006 Chevy cobalt ls with 46000miles on it.. if u have a answer email me atLax18chs@AOL.com Subject line "how to fix cobalt Power Steering". Thanks Ken C
the engine is using its power to run the power steering pump
On a 2009 Chevy Cobalt with a 2.2L engine, the power steering reservoir is located near the front of the engine bay, on the driver's side. It is typically a small, translucent plastic container with a cap labeled for power steering fluid. You can identify it by looking for the hose that connects to the power steering pump. Make sure the engine is off and cool before checking the fluid level.
The 2005 Cobalt has an electrical steering system. There is no power steering fluid used. The steering column has lubrication points.
There is not a reservoir for the power steering it is electronic
you dont fill it . its electronic power steering
A 2005 Chevy Cobalt has electronic steering, so no pump will be found.
The power steering pump for a 2006 Chevy Cobalt is located on the front of the engine, typically near the serpentine belt. It is mounted on the driver's side, adjacent to the engine block. To access it, you may need to remove the belt and possibly other components depending on the specific setup of your engine.
there has been a recall on power steering for the 05-2010 cobalt check with your local GM dealer and have it replaced
I believe there is a recall on Cobalt power steering. Call your dealer with your vin# to see if it applies.
