A 2005 LeSabre may shift smoothly when cold but experience hard shifts when warmed up due to several factors, including low Transmission Fluid levels, worn transmission components, or a malfunctioning valve body. As the transmission fluid warms, it can thin out, potentially exacerbating existing issues or revealing underlying problems, such as a failing solenoid or clutch. Additionally, overheating can lead to fluid breakdown, reducing its effectiveness in lubricating and facilitating smooth shifts. It's advisable to have the transmission inspected for any faults or necessary fluid changes.
Are you sure that it's third it's not shifting into, and not fourth? The transmission is designed to not permit shifts into fourth (overdrive) until the engine and transmission have warmed up a bit.
This is normal but aggravating, especially during winter. The transmission is designed not to shift into upper gears until it is warmed up sufficiently. Once it reaches the "magic" temp it shifts normally. If it is doing this even when your rx is warmed up and the check engine light is on then you may have bad knock sensors.

A rotating shift is a work schedule where employees move through different shifts on a regular basis, such as day shift, swing shift, and night shift. This system allows companies to provide around-the-clock coverage and distribute the less desirable shifts evenly among employees.
