it wont do harm it will ioncrease heat and fuel consumption but
Reasons behind the the common transmission problem of 1997 Audi A6 are:Faulty torque converter clutchTorque converter needle bearings failureUnsafe level of transmission fluidSolenoid damage can affect the fluid flow through the transmission
possibly a problem with the torque converter locking up, or could be something as simple as a vacuum leak
A Ford F-150's overdrive will not engage if the torque converter is not locking up or the bands are excessively worn. A full diagnostic at a local transmission shop or dealership is needed to properly diagnose the problem.
It's probably a problem with your catalytic converter.
either you have a broken wire or wires i assume you mean the converter is not locking up can you tell if it is trying to example is the rpms going up and down as your cruising a t 60 mph. if it does then its your converter that is causing the problem to stop it from revving up and down at highway speed you can unplug the lock up on the drivers side of the transmission but you will need a new converter to fix it.
Depending on the year/make/model of your car,It may very well be that your locking Torque Converter is locking at the wrong time. If,for instance,it's a GM vehicle, there is a 4 prong plug on the side of the transmission. Un-plug this and if the problem goes away you knw you have a bad lock-up solonoid.
If you have an automatic transmission your torque converter clutch could be locking up. I am not sure if your truck will turn over or not but the bucking and jumping at 60 mph makes me think that you may have a problem with your torque converter.
It could be transmission fluid or coolant, or a problem with the catalytic converter.
Type your answer here... it is possibly a torque converter problem or transmission faulty
Check the transmission fluid level and condition. You may need to replace the filter and flush/fill it. It could also be the valve body. 94-96 Berettas with the 3100 V6 only came mated to the 4T60-e automatic transmission. This transmission is not prone to the torque converter clutch solenoid lockup syndrome that the previous 3T40 transmission was known for. Unplugging the solenoid will likely do nothing to remedy the problem.
Low fluid level, stopped up filter, or a very serious transmission or torque converter problem.
you have a problem in your torque converter or transmission pump
