All recent Kia/Hyandai vehicles use an SP II or SP III Diamond designation tranny fluid. This is a full synthetic. It is the same tranny fluid used in Mitsibishi also. So far, Aamco will use it if the car calls for it, but the only other place to find it is the dealer!!!! There are very few Multi Vehicle fluids out there that will cross match with the SP III fluid. I know Amsoil will cross over and Valvoline says theirs will also. I questioned them, and they said if there was ever a problem related to their multi vehicle tranny fluid, they would take care of it. These are all I know of. I own a Kia and just spent about 2 months researching all this info as I needed to do the 30,000 mile maintenance, which involves a tranny fluid change.
remove transmission dip stick and find a long small funnel (clean) and insert it into dip stick tube and add appropriate tranny fluid with engine RUNNING !
there is no way to check the tranny fluid in a automatic 2000 Vette..GM didnt put a dip stick on this tranny..
Pull the transmission dip stick out , and make sure oil is showing on it . You need to take it for a drive and get the tranny fluid warmed up and then with the engine running and tranny in park , check the fluid on the dip stick . If the fluid is showing on the right mark on the dip stick you are good .
Auto or stick shift? If its a stick - there is a dip stick, look for the master cylinder, then look down. It's located really far down - rght on the back of the tranny.
let side of motor on tranny it will be close to bottom of tranny, should be a yellow dip stick, really short
put tranny in park. make sure its hot and check fluid while egne is running. should be in the cross hatch section on the dip stick.
first leave the car running, open the hood and towards the windshield you'll see a red dip stick that's where you check the tranny fluid. not all car`s have a dip stick tho
Standard tranny's don't have dipsticks. Theres a plug on the side of the tranny to check/fill the tranny fluid. The fluid should come up to the bottom of that plug hole when sitting on a level surface.
You can only go off of the srevice schedule in the owners manual for changes, and have it checked if you notice a leak.
same hole as the dip stick......get a funnel
manual tranny's take gear oil not tranny fluid. you need to get all that fluid out and fill the tranny with 80/90 weight gear oil
on 3.1 there is no dipstick. the only time you have to check fluid in tranny is,if you have a leak or you think it is giving you problems. first raise up car level then take plug out of in back of tranny pan to check fluid. if it runs out it is to full, fluid should be at bottom of hole.to add fluid, on the top of tranny there is a red cap unscrew this cap and use a long neck funnel to add fluid..only until it is at bottom of plug hole,by tranny.
