Avicenna, also known as Ibn Sina, was a Persian polymath who lived primarily in what is now modern-day Iran. He was born in 980 in Afshana, near Bukhara, which is in present-day Uzbekistan. Throughout his life, Avicenna traveled extensively across the Islamic world, spending time in various regions including Persia, Iraq, and the Levant, particularly during the 10th and 11th centuries. He passed away in 1037 in Hamadan, Iran.
