Ignition coils could have crapped out. Sometimes cars have one coil per cylnder, and sometimes more than one can fail. This is a limp mode of sorts and will usually allow you to get home, or to a dealer for the service it needs.

98 Chevy cavalier runs hot in traffic or on interstate fine around town replaced radioator last year did not cure it?

When it's running hot you should hear the cooling fan running, if not that is your problem. If the cooling fan does not operate check the fuses, cooling fan relay, cooling fan switch and cooling fan motor. One of them is at fault.

When Lincoln Town Cars intake manifold has been replaced now it wont even crank over battery getting 12 volts any ideas was running fine before?

The reason a Lincoln Town Car might not start after the intake manifold was replaced could be that the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor was not installed properly after the manifold was replaced. The computer might also need to be reset.

Does the ecm computer keep your car from running or starting?

What is a ring and valve job?

It is a repair for a worn out and smoky engine. Valves are cleaned and replaced if necessary including seats and seals, the cylinders are honed and new piston rings are installed to return the engine to a clean running state. If it's to that point I would put in new bearings as well and call it a rebuild, it's a waste in my mind to rebuild the top end when it is worn out and ignore the bottom.

92 Astro van dies without warning you have replaced the ignition coil and the cgr valve Had the fuel pump checked and it has good pressure you are at a loss?

Check the temperature sender. not the sensor, the sender. the sender goes from the thermostat to the computer. They have been know to prevent vehicles from running. I second that.

No. Frequently powering down your computer actually helps lengthen its lifetime. Continually running the computer even when you're not using it stresses the components.
