Usually its easier and cheaper to put in a rebuilt axle. Otherwise you have to remove it and get a new tone ring pressed on. By the way, tone rings don't wear out. They crack, but they don't wear. Nothing touches them. If you're not getting a good signal, check the gap between the ring and the sensor.

You generally can't replace the guide without replacing the cable. If the transmission still shifts easily, you don't need to replace the cable immediately (as in, it is not an emergency) however you should plan to replace it as soon as you can. yes you do there is no getting around it, sorry

This can be an involved task. It requires removing the axle nut and freeing the outboard side of the axle, and removing whatever suspension components may be necessary to remove the axle from the car. Once removed, you have to disassemble the joint for replacement or just replace the entire axle assembly. You will need several tools for this job, and a good shop manual. See the related links for an online source of information that may help.

The cost to replace a CV boot or axle on a 2004 Audi typically ranges from $150 to $400, depending on the specific model and whether you opt for OEM or aftermarket parts. Labor costs can vary, but expect to pay around $100 to $150 for installation at a mechanic. If you need to replace the entire axle rather than just the boot, the total expense may increase significantly, potentially reaching $800 or more. Always get a detailed estimate from a trusted mechanic for the most accurate pricing.
To replace a bike axle with a quick release mechanism, you will need to remove the existing axle and install a new quick release axle. First, remove the wheel from the bike by loosening the nuts or quick release lever on the existing axle. Then, unscrew the nuts on each side of the axle and remove the axle from the wheel hub. Next, insert the new quick release axle into the hub, making sure it is properly aligned. Finally, tighten the nuts on each side of the axle and secure the wheel back onto the bike.
