More than likely the shifter is bad. On the right front of the shifter is a small plastic cover. About the size of a pea. Pull this cover up and inset a small flathead screwdriver in. Push it down and then you should ne able to get it out of park. You will need to do this every time until you get the shifter fixed.
The fuse box is under the hood on the left side when facing the car. It is a black box with a screw on type lid. Just unscrew it to access your panel. Hope this helps! ON MY 98 PARK AVE. ULTRA THERE ARE THREE FUSE PANELS 1. UNDER HOOD AS ABOVE. 2. UNDER DASH ON FAR RIGHT (PASSENGER SIDE), HIDDEN ABOVE PANEL THAT HAS TO BE UNSCREWED. (BIT OF A PAIN) 3. UNDER REAR SEAT ON RIGHT SIDE IN BLACK BOX.
Right side of dash...remove the kick panel and the fuse block is up in the dash.
under the back seat
check fuse panel under dash ground wire on fuse panel has been know to go bad causing blown fuses this stops the truck for coming out of park
Yes, there is a fuse for it inside the vehicles fuse panel. However, it is linked to the electronic ignition and taking it out will cause unfavorable results. It is a 25a yellow fuse on the bottom right of panel.
I was looking at the owners manual , and in the fuse panel in the drivers end of the dash ( the removable plastic fuse panel cover is visible with the drivers door open ) fuse # 5 is a 15 amp fuse for I/P ( instrument panel ? ) dimming , park lamps , autolamps , trailer tow
Up behind the glove box (near the right kick panel)
You may want to look at your fuse panel. Possibly the brake,
