The Boston Tea Party was a result of the king of England raising taxes in the colonies. These taxes were to pay for England's debt; and they were in debt as a result of the French and Indian War. The colonists were unhappy with these taxes and planned a revolt, which involved taking the one of the taxed items, tea, and throwing it into the Boston Harbor.

The Boston Tea Party led to the Intolerable Acts, which ultimately caused the war between the colonies and England.

Boston really did have a tea party by a Liberty tree. Many people don't know that a Liberty tree is just an Elm Tree. It was no special tree.

Evan Margenthaler: If the British dropped the taxes or made an agreement with the Americans, the Boston Tea Party could have been avoided. If this was true the Revolutionary War could have never existed, therefore the what is now known as United States of America never could have existed and been under British control.
