The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
You must remove door panel, then ensure the door lock actuator is connected to the door lock latch. If not replace or repair, if it is properly attached, then you need to replace the door lock actuator. This involves removal of anything securing the actuator to door, including electrical connector. It may be held in by rivets, if so you may use nut's and bolts when installing new part (just ensure the length of the bolts do not interfere with window movement).
This is not an easy job. TAke it to an auto trim shop. Before answering your question i need a little bit of info from you. 1. Is the window power or manual? 2.Has whte window fallen completely out of reach or is part of it still sticking out? 3. By slightly pulling or pushing the window do you get any type of movement in either direction? 4. Car year/make/model Let me know

Remove the inside door panel or cover and look inside the area where window is concealed and turn the manual window knob. If no problem is detected, check through the car's other window. Use open-end wrenches or a socket wrench to replace worn or broken parts or tighten loose nuts and bolts.
Its probably the window regulator inside the door. Most of them have nylon gears which get brittle and break. You can get to it by removing the interior door panel. From there you should be able to determine how hard it is to get it out.

To fix the sliding door window on a Ford Windstar, start by removing the door panel to access the window mechanism. Inspect the window regulator and tracks for damage or debris, and lubricate any moving parts with silicone spray. If the regulator is broken, replace it with a new one. Finally, reassemble the door panel and test the window to ensure it operates smoothly.
To fix a door knob that has fallen off, you can reattach it by tightening the screws on the door knob with a screwdriver. If the screws are stripped or damaged, you may need to replace them with new ones. Make sure the door knob is aligned properly before tightening the screws to ensure it functions correctly.
