I would think it would be the same as my 99, if so the starter is located on the passenger side of the engine below the intake manifold., there is 2 bolts one on top and one on bottom the bolts screw through th engine flange and into the transmission. Don't foget to disconnect the battery first. Also don't forget to hook your ground back up before you put your bottom bolt back in, the bottom bolt goes through the ground connector.
Take the steering column housing off (usually held by 4 screws from the bottom) and remove the starter cap from the back of the ignition cylinder. In a Nissan, the ignition cylinder usually has a T shaped pin which turns the starter. if you can start your vehicle by turning the starter cap with a screw driver, you probably don't have an issue with the starter.

I changed my starter motor on my 1984 B2000 Pickup. Has to be done from underneath. Raise the front end - use jackstands. Remove the negative battery terminal. The holding bolts on the starter are difficult to reach and slow to remove but,with patience, can be done. Space around the motor is tight but with persistance, you can snake it out. Good Luck.
Locate the starter at the rear of the engine on the passenger's side. Unplug the wiring. Remove the bolts that hold the starter. Remove the starter.
disconnect neg.cable,then disconnect pos. cable from starter ,then other wire,then remove 2 bolts holding starter to engine.
Disconnect the - battery cable Raise and support the vehicle Remove wiring at the top of starter Remove mounting bolts Remove starter
remove neg.cable.then positive cable cable from starter,remove male to female wire ,then remove 2 bolts holding starter to engine.
go to auto zone.com enter vehicle info.then look up starter,then click on repair guide and it will tell you.
disconnect neg. battery cable, remove positive cable from starter,use 12 mm wrench,disconnect other wire, u need no wrench,male to female fitting ,then get 14 mm wrenchand remove 2 bolts holding starter on to engine. that's it.
disconnect your battery. disconnect the cable(s) on the starter. remove bolts from starter. pull starter out from bellhousing. enjoy life as you know it. eat crackers and tacos.
by going over the top of the bell housing
remove negative battery cable,jack up truck and remove front passenger tire,easier to get to,its next to oil filter,remove ignition wire from starter,remove positive battery cable from starter,remove 2 bolts holding starter on to engine,remove starter,installation is same as installing.g0ood luck.

Remove the positive cable from your 1995 Nissan Pathfinder battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
disconnect neg. battery cable ,remove pos.cable from starter .10 or 12 mm wrench.remove wire from starter ,no wrench needed,its a male to female connector,remove 2 bolts holding starter to engine,12 or 14 mm wrench,thats it.
