There are three large oil seals for rotating shafts and a couple seals for other things.

Each of them requires a different and quite involved repair procedure.

A basic idea:

  • Each output or axle seal requires dis assembly of that side suspension and removal of the drive shaft, also known as a half shaft.
  • The seal that seals the Torque converter requires removal of the transmission
  • Input shaft seal and electrical pug seals may be repairable on the car but require removal of both oil pans. On some cars removal of the trans may be needed.
