Yes, you have to wait 8 weeks before you do anything with it other than cleaning it. The reasoning behind it is simple: your skin and the cartilage need to heal. Taking the post in and out right now can (and often does) introduce infection. Putting in a ring while the pierced site is still tender invites tearing as the ring catches on your hair or on someone's finger.

I'm sure those who pierced it explained all this to you already. Listen to them.

You got your tongue pierced two days ago should you have slight puss coming out?

No, pus should not be present, this indecates an infection. There should only be mild swelling, and some tenderness at the site.

What size jewelry should you start off with for a tongue piercing?

when you get your tongue pierced, the piercer will put in a long bar to accompany the swelling, as it does swell quite a lot. But after at least 2 weeks, you may change it to a smaller one. Also, dont keep your tongue bar out for too long, as it does heal quite quickly. It may sting at first while you change it, but just suck on some ice cubes or something. Hope that helped.

How long should your stud be for a brand new lip piercing?

Depends on where you have it done but most places will give you a slightly longer bar to allow for swelling. All mine have been done with a 1.2 mm x 10. However if you have thicker lips they may give you a 12 or if you have thinner lips they may give you a 8. If you realise the bar is too short you can go back and they should change it to a longer one for you.

What is facet osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis can cause the breakdown of cartilage between facet joints. This causes pain as well as loss of motion and stiffness. The facet joints are in the back portion or posterior of the spine. They combine with the disc space to create a three joint complex at each vertebral level. These joints consist of two opposing bony surfaces that should have cartilage between them and a capsule around it that produces fluid. The cartilage and the fluid combine to allow the joint to move with little friction. However, with facet joint arthritis, the cartilage breaks down causing more friction with joint movement. This leads to a loss of motion stiffness and back pain.

How much is it to get your cartilage pierced at Claires?

You should NOT get your cartilage pierced at any other place aside from a tattoo parlor. No piercings should be done without a hollow needle as a regular needle will push the skin and cartilage that is being pierced to the back of your ear causing infection, swelling, and an all out gross looking ear. I highly suggest that you go to a tattoo parlor and get it done professionally. It will cost anywhere from10-40 dollars depending on where you go and if you have an earring to go in it. The earring should be steel as it is hypoallergenic. Sources: I'm a piercer and I have a lot of experience and I have many piercings including my cartilage. Hope this helps. --------------------------------------------------- Improved answer: I dont understand why everyone says not to get it done at Claire's. I got my cartilage done at Claire's and it was PERFECTLY FINE. It was $33 for the earring, piercing, and ear cleaner fluid. My ear did NOT get infected and nothing bad happened at all. Personally tattoo parlors are pretty scary.... Everyone at Claire's are nice and friendly Sources: Got my cartilage pierced at Claire's

Why is there dead skin around your newly pierced cartilage?

Is it dead skin or dried discharge, if you have questions about how your piercing is healing you should go back and see your piercer for assistance.

Why should you get your cartilage pierced?

There's no reason you "should" get your cartilage pierced. It's obviously not generally necessary or even desirable, medically speaking. It's not especially dangerous, provided that the person doing it observes some minimum standards of hygiene, but that just means you can do it without worrying too much about an adverse impact on your health, not that you should do it.If we're talking ears, the only reason is that the piercing is less likely to be accidentally torn out if your earlobes are fragile or exceptionally thin.

How old should you be when you get your lip pierced in Texas?

I think piercing places are starting a new policy where if you're under 18, you have to have a birth certificate, a state ID, and parent consent. I can't go get my nose pierced without my state ID which I'm waiting on but a couple years ago I had no problem going to get my cartilage pierced.

When should you change your nose piercing?

If you just got your nose pierced, wait for 6 weeks, then change it if you would like to.
