Only three U.S. presidents have been formally impeached by Congress: Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. So far, no U.S. president has ever been removed from office through impeachment.

In addition to Johnson, Clinton and Trump, only one other U.S. president has faced formal impeachment inquiries in the House of Representatives: Richard Nixon.

Only 2 presidents in history have been impeached: Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson. Richard Nixon would have been impeached but resigned right before the House of Representatives were scheduled to vote on whether or not to impeach. None of the Presidents have been removed from office.

2 US presidents were impeached in our lifetime: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Neither was removed from office. Bummer because they both sucked. Richard Nixon was threatened with impeachment, but resigned before he was impeached. That's cheating!

Neither of these two Presidents were removed from office as a result of the process.

Richard Nixon, threatened with impeachment and facing sure removal in the Senate resigned from the Presidency, but was never technically impeached.
