Undoubtedly, the worst long term effect of Heart disease that is left untreated would be death. But, the long term effects that occur while alive, that lead up to death, might sound better than dying, but it could turn out to be a long, slow process. Enlargement of the heart will occur, as will blood pressure, as the heart will be pumping faster. Blood vessels will become more narrow, and the heart will stop pumping as much blood to areas like the hands and feet, so that more blood can get to vital organs instead.

1)Coronary Heart Disease long term problems/effects-Unstable Angina,Heart Failure, and even leading to Heart Attacks, and maybe even death (depending on your condition and how you contribute to it).

2)Congenital Heart Disease long term problems/effects-(common in children)this occurs when something goes wrong at birth, (fetal tragedies) and you may need extensive care such as cardiac catheterization or cardiac surgery when/if you have heart disorders such as chronic severe cyanosis, (poor feeding) and as a child's form finally, is atrial septal defects. Children with the single ventricle syndrome increase the likelihood of developmental disorders or otherwise called ''tragedies''.

What are the causes for the heart attack?

A heart attack happens if the flow of oxygen-rich blood to a section of heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked. Most heart attacks occur as a result ofcoronary heart disease (CHD).CHD is a condition in which a waxy substance called plaque builds up inside of the coronary arteries. These arteries supply oxygen-rich blood to your heart. When plaque builds up in the arteries, the condition is called atherosclerosis. The buildup of plaque occurs over many years.Eventually, an area of plaque can rupture (break open) inside of an artery. This causes a blood clot to form on the plaque's surface. If the clot becomes large enough, it can mostly or completely block blood flow through a coronary artery. If the blockage isn't treated quickly, the portion of heart muscle fed by the artery begins to die. Healthy heart tissue is replaced with scar tissue. This heart damage may not be obvious, or it may cause severe or long-lasting problems.
