Shifter has to be in park to get the key turned all the way off,,,,,,,,,,,,, Why will it not go into park?,,, Contact me in my message board
not sure if it's the same on yours but on mine this is what i do. i leave the key in the ignition, i turn the ignition all the way back as far as it will go, tap on the key inwards and then try it again. on mine it's because my keys are worn down, yours might be the same, but it's worth a shot.

To install a universal ignition switch in a Ford Ranger, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the steering column cover to access the ignition wiring, then identify and disconnect the existing ignition switch wiring harness. Connect the universal ignition switch according to the wiring diagram, typically matching the battery, ignition, and starter wires. Finally, secure the switch in place, reassemble the steering column, and reconnect the battery to test the installation.

A spark plug diagram for a 1990 Ford Ranger typically shows the location of the spark plugs along the engine's cylinder head. The Ranger's engine options include a 2.3L four-cylinder and a 4.0L V6, with the spark plugs positioned accordingly—four for the four-cylinder and six for the V6. Each spark plug is connected to an ignition coil or wire, which is essential for engine ignition. For detailed visuals, it's best to refer to a repair manual specific to the vehicle.
