Seismic gap.
Unlikely to experience a major seismic event
Because the wave motion (also known as seismic waves) determine how minor or major an Earthquake is. This is because seismic waves are caused by tension in the Earth's crust due to our tetonic plates rubbing together irregularly.
Seismic generators have been set in the Philippine Archipelago. This has been done in order to predict the approximate time that an earthquake may strike.
a segment of an active fault zone that has not experienced a major earthquake over a span when most other segments have. such segments are probable sites for future major earthquakes

These smaller earthquakes are called aftershocks. Aftershocks can often be as strong as the earthquake its self and there can be many.
