Metric fluid bolt spec? Exactly what does that mean? You want the torque specifications of a certain bolt. What bolt, used to attach what are you referring to?
Take the knob with you to a hardware store, and find a metric bolt that will screw into the knob. This would be the easiest way.
Meters
Remove the plug from the transmission fluid pan. Allow the transmission fluid to drain out. Replace the plug to its original position. Fill the transmission with new fluid. Remove the transmission filter by turning it to the left. Fill the filter with new fluid. Return the filter to its original position.
The Windstar transmission could have a seal that leaks worse as the transmission gets hot and the fluid is under pressure. Go to a car wash and clean the transmission good. Watch for several days to see where the fluid is leaking from so that you can find and fix the leak.
Surely you have a set of sockets. More than likely it is metric. Just try different sizes until you find the one that fits.
It is in a shlp manual from AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM
look in te manual :-)
If your dipstick reads "Full", then you do not need to add any fluid. Be certain to follow manufacturer instructions when checking fluid level. Your torque converter is part of the transmission, when speaking of fluid, so if the transmission is full, the torque converter is also.
Always torque in zig zag pattern... snug up all bolts first then torque the corners head bolts ( starting at the top left side looking down at the head )then go back up to the top left ,where you orginially started and torque up the next bolt over. Then go to the bottom right and torque the next bolt over from the corner .Then go to the top right and torque one bolt from the corner, then bottom left one bolt from the corner and work your way into the center. Torque the top bolt first when you get to the center ........always remenber when your checking the torque... you check the same way as you installed. Have fun the older vr-6's are the best ones to have... just hard to find parts
Yes, there is a torque setting, but rarely does anyone torque that particular bolt. Torque it to 25 lb/ft until you can find out the correct torque setting. Call a Ford dealer or look in your owner's manual for the exact torque.
It will "bolt up", but there is an issue with the torque converter. You will need to either have a standard torque converter machined/welded, or you will need to find the special torque converter that came on a 151/TH350 setup from the factory. I do not know if one actually exists, but I am looking.
most shop manuals have these specs in them. also, most head gasket manufacturers put the torque specs on the package. make sure you torque the bolts in the correct sequence also.
There is a drain bolt and a fill bolt. One is on the side of the tran and the other the bottom. As to what kind of fluid I do not know, that is why I am on this site, to find out what kind of fluid I need. The bolts are rather large metrics do not know what size but you cant miss them.
L or mL L Litres, millilitres or fluid onces
That's easy you can find those in the [http://www.themotorbookstore.com/chevpic.html Repair Manaul You Have].
It will be a metric size try different sizes until you find the one that fits.
You could find it at the dealer, make sure you use sealant so as oil doesn't leak. while at the dealer find out what the torque spec is.
