Remove the plug from the Transmission Fluid pan. Allow the transmission fluid to drain out. Replace the plug to its original position. Fill the transmission with new fluid. Remove the transmission filter by turning it to the left. Fill the filter with new fluid. Return the filter to its original position.
The transmission fluid can only be added/changed by a dealer or someone with the proper tools to check the fluid level. There is no dipstick for the transmission. I have 89000 km on my LS & am wondering at what mileage to get the fluid changed.
You can. of course just drop the pan and change the filter, then re-fill new fluid through the dipstick tube. I don't like that as it leaves a lot of old fluid in the torque convertor.
To remove as much of the old fluid as possible, leave the pan on, remove a trans cooler line at the radiator, put a drain pan under it, then start the engine for a few seconds to find out which way the fluid is flowing. It doesn't matter which line you use except that you have to attach a small clear hose either to the line connector or the radiator outlet in order to collect the fluid. Put the hose into a 4-5 gallon bucket and let the engine idle in park, fluid will come out, - After a minute or two. you can pour new fluid slowly into the dipstick tube and watch for the fluid to change colour as the new fluid comes through. This trans will hold 13 litres or so and will take 7-10 minutes to run through. Once you see a flow of new fluid, switch off, re-connect the rad line. This way, you have removed the 6-8 litres that usually remains in the torque convertor after a 'pan change'. - Now, I like to change the filter also, so at this point I remove the pan carefully as it's full of new fluid, change the filter, drain the pan into a clean bucket and check the bottom of pan carefully before wiping it and re-fitting it back on. Now I strain this fluid through filter paper then pour it down the dipstick tube. Now start the engine and measure fluid in a minute or two and adjust to recommended level. This operation costs around 400 in garages.
You can add transmission fluid to your 1969 Mustang transmission through the dipstick holder. Using a funnel will make the job easier.
You add the transmission fluid using the same tube that the transmission dip stick is in, use a long flexable funnel, and do not over fill.
You can add transmission fluid to your 1989 Mitsubishi transmission through the dipstick holder. The dipstick holder should have a bright yellow handle.
You leave a mess everywhere you park, When the fluid level drops below the add line, the transmission will not perform correctly, Continued use after the fluid level has dropped below the add line will shorten the life span of the transmission,
You add transmission fluid through the same tube where the transmission dipstick is located. You need a funnel used for transmission oil. The funnel is long, narrow and the end can fit into the dipstick tube.

Use a funnel and on the passenger side in the back of the engine is a yellow dipstick that you will have to pull out and add transmission fluid through where you pulled the dipstick out.
On a 2000 Lincoln Town Car : Using a funnel you add automatic transmission fluid through the dipstick tube The tube is located near the firewall , at the rear of the engine ( front of transmission ) on the passenger side of the engine in the engine compartment
Transmission fluid is added to most vehicles in the same place that you check the fluid level. Pull the transmission fluid dipstick, insert a long funnel in the tube and add fluid there. Remember transmission fluid is added by the pint not quarts.
Add fluid by using a funnel or similar device, by way of the auto trans fluid dipstick tube.
There is no reservoir use a funnel and add to the dip stick tube.
Just changed transmission filter and had to add tranny fluid back in. Grab a funnel, preferably with a small end that will fit in the (tranny) dipstick tube. Remove the dipstick and add the fluid as needed
Check to see how low the fluid is on the dip stick. Add fluid in small amounts, about one fourth of a quart at a time. Keep checking the level until the transmission is full but not over full.
How do you add transmission fluid to a Nissan Altima with standard transmission?
You should never add transmission fluid to a Chevrolet 350 engine. You can add transmission fluid to the transmission through the transmission dipstick holder.
You add A/T transmission fluid at the same place you check it.
