find the starter and try hiting it if that doesnt work by one at a local junk yard much jeaper then autozone
crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer crawl under truck and tap the starter with a hammer
The starter is probably at fault. Hit it with a hammer real good and if it starts it is the starter for sure. That won''t work but a few times.
bad starter. Hit it with a hammer lightly while anothe person turns the key. suggestion, replace the starter.
I am having this same problem. I will give a definitive answer once I've had my car looked at but I'm confident that the problem lies within either the starter or the solenoid. Strangely enough, if I bang the starter and solenoid with a hammer a few times the car will start right up. I think the gear inside the starter is jamming and the hammer helps to free it up.
Typically this signifies that your starter motor has either jammed, or is faulty. To check that it has not jammed, give it a whack on the end with a small hammer, or fairly large wrench. If that does the trick, then the starter motor was jammed, if not, you need a replacement starter motor.
If you try hitting the starter with a hammer it should get it turning again..if its not that, its your battery or plugs.. Regards, Michael,
hit the starter with a hammer as ur trying to startr it an if it starts than its ur starter lol dats what i do to my 92 dodge colt. i dont have a hammer but i do hav a tool to change spark plugs and when my car doesnt start i tap the starter then try to start it and it usually starts.
Have someone try to start it and while they are in the start position lightly hit side of the starter with a hammer. This worked for me. But you still need to replace the starter.
Bang it witha hammer but not enough to dent but enough to "jiggle" it
It's probably your starter. Have someone take a wooden spoon or a small hammer and lighly bang the starter as you try to start it. If that works, then you definitely need a new starter.

you have a magnetic starter on this vehicle, the starter is no good, you might try to hit it with a hammer to get it to start.
sounds to me like the starter is out..you can either replace it or smack it with a hammer to see if it will start
most likely it is the starter. try moving the van a little bit or banging on the starter with a hammer ... then try to start it again..... if it starts then it is the starter , if not , it may need to be diagnosed by a repair shop ...
I had the same problem. Your starter is probably going out. You can actually lightly tap the starter with a hammer and that gets it going.
Check your cable connections to the battery.... disconnect from the battery, then charge battery. reconnect and should be fine also you may want to check the wireing to the starter if these dont fix the problem smack the starter with a hammer if its carrroied up inside that should let you start it if wires are good at battrie slionid and starter replace starter
