Honestly? I'd keep the Th400 and add a Gear Vendors OD unit to it. For the cost of that and driveshaft modifications, it'll still be cheaper than building up a 200R4 or 700R4 to the point of being able to withstand the torque of the 454, and you'll still have what is, in my opinion, a superior transmission to both of the R4s.Swapping in an electronic 4L80E into a mechanically controlled setup isn't the most feasible of options.
Stay with the bullet proof TH400 unless you want to upgrade to a 4 speed then go with the 4L80E.
it is a 700r4
no & yes, yes it will bolt up to your engine, but to make it function, you will have to add a transmission computer to your ride. GM sells these for the conversion. Unfortunately, like everything else from GM it is expensive. The 4L60E is an electronoic computer controled transmission where as a 700R4, also known as a 4L60 ,uses the computer only for converter clutch lock up in the 92 model cars. I asume your car is a 92.
700r4 froom 1988 to 98 are the same but with different working havit's 1988 to 90 where vaccum modulated shift controlled and from 91 to 97 had an electronic lockout solenoid other than that they can be mounted to any Chevrolet out there trck or car after 97 they became 4l60le and 4l65le for 4wdrive from 1998 to2006 hope this helps
kickdown cable. it connects to the linkage on the carb's throttle. as the throttle goes in the kickdown goes out.
If memory serves me right you need to remove the pan and remove some parts up front that won't allow the pump to come out until you do.
Yes it will. My GMC S15 has 3.1 v6 Camaro engine stuffed into it with the original 700R4 tranny.
Yes.
6
YES.
My 93 has a 4l60e. A 95 should have the same. It look like a 700r4 but it computer controlled.
Should be the 700R4
Should be the 700R4 transmission.
Yes you can it will bolt right up to it.
I guess you can if you want. But I don't know WHY you would want to. the 700R4 is a MUCH better transmission. If you change, your fuel milage will be WORSE and the Engine will turn more RPMs. ( Hard on engine )
Most likely it is a THM 700R4/ 4L60.
Should be the 700R4 trans.
That truck should have the 700R4 transmission in it.
