Your 1998 Chrysler sebring convertible lxi v6 wont start has no spark but turns over no previous problems just didnt want to start all of a sudden?

check all the fuses, check fuel pump, check power to ignition coils

You might also check to determine whether the timing chain is broken. Have had previous experience with cranking but no ignition with the timing chain as the culprit.There are many reasons on why it might not run, There are many sensors that might be the blame for the motor not to stay running. The crank position sensor or the cam position sensor which is located on your distributor. Your distributor cap and rotor can be worn. Your O2 sensors. Your throttle position sensor. All of these are ran by your computer(ECM), and if any go bad they can cause your computer to freak out and run very poorly or not run at all. I hope this has helped any if not at all.

Dear distressed, had the same problem with my 1999 sebring 2.5 v6. Changed the distributer because i was told after running a diagnostic test that the problem might be the camshaft sensor which happens to be built in the distributer of the 2.5 v6 coupe model. After replacing still had same problem would run for 5 to 10 minutes then die, unable to start again till it cooled down. Turns out it was the crankshaft sensor ($100) part and car is running fine now. Each one of these sensors when they go bad shut down spark to distributer. Hope this is of some help considering i was at my wits end by the time i figured it out.

I had same problem with a 98 sebring coupe Lxi. Replaced Distributor which had built in coil, lland it turned right on. Hope this helps.

Since the Sebring has spark and compression , check the crank sensor, and the timing belt. If the timing has jumped or the sensor is bad then the engine will not start.
