My friend, I have no qualification except from my experience in the roller coaster ride that is called life. I can only speak from personal experience as a man who's ex's have been female. If this question is from a LADY, my answer would be that if your ex still contacts you, visits or meets you, gives you presents or asks to take you away for weekends or holidays, then you should have no need to ask the question. But be aware of the fact that many guys can be very shallow (yep!! that's including myself when I was younger!)and live their lives from between their legs... if you get my meaning!!If this question is from a MAN, then you have my sympathy!! I have had a relationship in the past that totally turned my life on it's head. I was utterly wrapped up in a woman who I felt was my future, until she dumped me. This lead to losing my job, friends staying away because of my inability to let go, not sleeping and a hollow feeling combined with extreme envy for her new fella. I think it's fair to say that women can be more 'complicated' when it comes to emotions, but I found she was happy to communicate to a certain 'level', then she'd step away again. Each time we got to that 'level', I hoped that this time we'd go to the next step and get back together... but it never happened. What I'm saying in short, is that if a woman can look you in the eye and tell you she wants to be with you, your PROBABLY safe..... Sorry if this very long answer isn't what you wanted to hear, I'm sure theres a guidance councellor who's read your question and who will offer you the 'text book' definition in half the words!!
