The Toyota MR2, particularly the earlier models, does not have a conventional boot or trunk like most cars. Instead, it features a rear-mounted engine compartment and a small front storage area (frunk) that can hold some luggage or personal items. The design prioritizes sporty performance and mid-engine layout over cargo space.
There is a lever under the dash on the driver's side, near the footrest.
In the Toyota MR2 MK3, underbonnet lights are typically mounted on the underside of the engine cover or near the engine bay, secured with clips or screws to ensure they illuminate the area effectively. Boot lights are usually installed on the interior of the boot lid, connected to the wiring harness and activated when the boot is opened. Both lights can be replaced by removing the old fixtures and connecting the new ones to the existing wiring. Proper care should be taken to ensure a secure fit and functionality upon installation.
The boot just snaps in with a clip, reach into it on the back side and pull up. It should just pop right off; the same is true for the plate it sits on. I changed mine out last week in about 5 minutes.
