use a center punch in the busted bolt (try making it as dead center and proper angle as possible) then drill carefully starting with a small bit and work your way up with a bigger bit until it comes close to the entire bolt size -just be careful, block's thread might get chewed up when using a bigger bit if not centered and angled properly. Then use a sharp awl and pick out the remaining steel on the threads. you may do a betetr job if you buy a broken head remover bit, and instead of using a sharp awl use the remover and you will not damge the thread

How do you remove stuck corroded wheel bolts in a Volvo S80?

Try heating the bolts. Hopefully, as the heated bolts (which has expanded on heating) cools down and contracts, the corroded bond will have been broken. Try spraying with WD40, or dabbing on diesel, while the bolts are still hot.

1994 geo prizm the engine does not get warm?

Your thermostat may be stuck in the open position. It is a strightforward task to replace it. If you pop the hood and look from the driver side towards the engine you will see a small diameter hose connected to the thermostat housing with 2 bolts. Drain the coolant, remove the bolts, replace the thermostat and refill.

How to change 93 Pontiac Sunbird water pump?

start by draining the coolant, then remove all the belts, then remove the altenator, power steering pump, if you have the OHV(over head valve) engine remove the water pump pully bolts and pully. wedge a screw driver inbetween 2 bolts to keep it from turning while you remove the pully bolts, loosen all bolts before removing any of them. on OHC(over head cam) engines remove the timing belt front cover, timing belt and rear cover, remover the retaining bolts/nuts and lift the water pump out, if it's stuck jar it loose with a block of wood, DO NOT PRY between the pump and engine with a screwdriver, you might damage the sealing/mating surfaces, on some models you have to unbolt the engine mount from it's cradle (subframe) and raise the engine just enough to get the pump out, and reinstall in the reverse order, and there you have it, peace of cake, butch

How do you replace a thermostat on 94 camaro?

On V8 LT1 engine, remove air intake tube from throttle body to expose thermostat housing, thermostat housing is right the air intake tube where it connects to the engine, should see large rubber hose coming from radiator, remove this from the engine, the part you remove this from is the thermostat housing, should have 2 bolts to take out, takes 8mm socket, pull off and thermostat will probably be stuck to it, pry off and install new one, careful to not overtighten bolts or housing could crack.

96 grand am gt 3100 engine mount right front is it whole piece or is this thing stuck has no bolts at bottom holding it but bracket and all is attached how do you change it?

It has two bolts located in the wheel well that hold it on from the bottom and two bolts that hold the top in place. The assembly also has two bolts in the top that attach it to the t shaped bar that is attached to the engine with three or four bolts depending on the year. The way to remove it is to take it out in pieces. The first piece to remove is the t-bar that is attached to the engine. Support the engine from below with a jack and a good board placed below the oil pan. Remove the two bolts from the top of the mount and remove that plate to expose the two bolts other bolts holding the t-shaped bar to the mount. Remove the 3 or 4 bolts from the bar attached to the engine. Remove the bar in this order because if you don't then the motor mount has to much give in it to be able to remove the bolts from the top of it, and you are likely to strip the bolt heads. I've done it and I've changed the mounts before. Once you have the bar removed then you can remove the bolts from the wheel well and the whole mount assembly will come out. Parts stores generally only sell the rubber insert for the mount, and dealerships only sell the whole mount. Once you decide which part you want (mainly depending on the amount of money you want to spend) then just follow the steps in reverse to reassemble. It only takes about 30 minutes tops if you have the right tools. Its also good practice for when you have to replace the serpentine belt. You have to remove the bar attached to the mount to replace it.
