I have a Toyota Corolla 2001 LE. The rear seats drop/ fold. However, can not get into the trunk due to the trunk lock mechanism is not working. The key in barrel is horizontal and stuck. Can not turn the key. Because of this the trunk release latch on the floor by the driver side can not release the trunk.
The back seat release knobs are inside the trunk. Some models have them on top of the rear seats inside the car. Hence can not fold and drop the rear seats.
I am unable to get to the release knobs inside the trunk and unable to get to the latches from inside the car.
I have already removed the base seat in the back. I have seen the 3 bolts.
So do I remove those three bolts as mentioned by Martin Thompson or is there anything else I need to do in order to remove the entire back seat frame?
thank you in advance for your help.

To remove the back seat of a 1998 Toyota Corolla, you will need to remove the carpet to expose the bolts for the seat. Then, loosen the bolts by removing the nuts. You can then remove the seat.
it is on the back of the seat. remove the seat and remove the black cover on the middle. the pump and the filter are together.
The type of the rear seat of the Toyota Corolla will determine how you will remove it. For instance, for a folding seat, all that you will need to do is to lower the seat to gain access.
Open the trunk and disconnect the electric wires there. Go in the back seat and remove the covers/unscrew them.
No you can not. You will have to remove the gas tank.
It is in the tank, you have to remove the tank to get to the pump. The 93 corolla was the first year to allow access to the pump by taking out the back seat and removing the top cover.
To remove the back seat of a 2001 Renault Clio, start by locating the release mechanisms at the bottom of the seat cushions. Pull up on the front of the seat cushions to unclip them and then lift them out. For the seat back, locate the bolts or clips securing it to the car frame, typically found at the base or sides, and remove them using a socket wrench or appropriate tool. Once detached, you can lift the seat back out of the vehicle.
To remove the rear seat from a 1996 Toyota Corolla, start by locating the seat bottom release clips, usually found at the front of the seat. Pull these clips up to detach the seat bottom from its mounting points. Next, for the seat back, locate the bolts or clips securing it to the floor or rear bulkhead, usually accessible from the trunk or rear passenger area. Once unfastened, simply lift the seat back up and out of the vehicle.

On my 2001 Astro there are 4 bolts from the seat frame to the floor remove the bolts and the seat is removable (HINT move the middle passenger seat back as far as it can go and that is easier to remove the seat and frame ..I have done this twice on the 2001 and 3 times on the 1989 I had..
Look under the frigging seat. There are nuts or bolts on the brackets under there holding the seat to the floor. It is up to you to remove the right bolts.
