To replace the dashboard clock in a 1998 Toyota Tercel, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the dashboard panel by unscrewing any screws and gently prying it away from the dashboard. Next, locate the clock assembly, disconnect the wiring harness, and unscrew the clock from its mounting. Install the new clock by reversing these steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reassembling the dashboard.

Check the fuse that controls the power to the clock but if that is okay, then the bad news is that he clock is probably shot. There are no bulbs to replace - those clocks were actually LCD's (liquid crystal diodes) and if the clock goes dim or dark altogether, it will have to be replaced.

In a 1998 Toyota Hiace, the fuse for the clock is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. Check the fuse diagram on the cover of the fuse box to identify the specific fuse associated with the clock, which is often labeled as "clock" or "accessory." If the clock is not functioning, inspect this fuse for any signs of damage or a blown filament and replace it if necessary.
