My 2007 Murano has squeaky brakes when I first start out, usually in the morning or after sitting for awhile. After a minute or so, the squeak goes away. The brakes work fine.
Can you give more detail? Is it squeak, squeak, squeak or squeeeeeeek? I'm assuming that it only occurs when the car is moving. Does putting the brakes on make it change? --Ken It does make squeeeeek sound when car is moving and putting brakes on does change it.
It could be a faulty tire or possibly the wheel bearing, but I'd seriously inspect the brakes, even if you don't think anything is wrong. That's a FAR more common cause of noise.
The best way to stop the rear brakes on a Mazda 626 from rattling would be to replace them. New brakes can cost between $20 and upwards of $100 depending on the quality of the brakes.
bad wheel bearing.
(Harmony2k3) If you have the following issues then I would have them checked: (do they squeak every time they are wet? do they squeak at all when they are dry? when you push your brake pedal is it spongy and go to the floor? do you have to pump your brakes? has it been more than a year since you've had brake service?) If you said yes to any or all of those questions then I would have them looked at.
The brake pad squealers are warning you to have the brakes serviced soon.
Don't understand "september"! The squeak is more than likely a worn shock absorber, bushing or rubber bumper. If possible , remove tire with rear of car on supports, have someone to bounce the rear of the car and listen carefully to find the source of the squeak. In some vehicles, disc brakes have a warning of worn pads-a squeaking will occur.
A dry wheel bearing will cause the rear wheel to squeak at low speeds. The wheel bearing should be checked immediately to avoid a major problem.
Could be the brakes are metal to metal.
Hello, I have a 2002 Protege5 with the same problem. I am quite sure that it is the serpentine belt as the squeal started after I had both belts replaced at 60,000 miles. I would check to see if one of them is too loose. Good Luck!
There is a known ABS issue with Mazda Tributes in that year. Do a search for Mazda Tribute recalls and it should give a description. You should be able to bring it to a dealer to have the issue addressed at no charge.
