A 2001 Mazda Tribute may be losing brake fluid due to a few possible reasons, such as a leak in the brake lines, worn brake calipers, or a failing master cylinder. Inspecting these components for visible signs of fluid leakage can help identify the issue. Additionally, worn brake pads can cause the calipers to extend further, leading to fluid loss.
