Other possibilities could be one of the the accessory belt idler pulleys - either the one that connects to the accessory driveshaft bracket, or the one that connects to the A/C compressor bracket. If the bearing has gone bad, it would likely produce a chirping/squealing noise. Another thought is the accessory driveshaft coupling, which is a common problem in the Previa vehicles. It consists of two round, rubber pieces that act as a support/damper between the accessory driveshaft. The rubber eventually wears out and deteriorates, which will lead to noise and vibration. Another idea is the alternator ... have you checked that out to see if the chirping sound could be due to worn alternator bearings? Or if the belt tension is too tight, that could be putting more stress on the shaft and bearings, increasing the frequency/volume of noise. If you have a mechanic's stethoscope, it would come in handy for locating/diagnosing noises such as chirps, squeals, etc. Good luck!
You don't have to replace the supercharger you will just have no performence power and bad gas milage, but you will not harm the supercharger. Same thing happen to me, year later I replaced my supercharger belt and supercharger was fine.....dont wait get it fixed dont hurt the GTP!!!!!
I had the same chirping noise. My chriping was the belt and/or the power steering pump. I replaced both. no noise now. I would first replace the belt, then the pump
supercharger oil for 2002 pontaic Bonneville ssi what is it and what is the best oil to replace it with?
replace alternator belt
no :(
It might be the supercharger going bad. The supercharger has a little coupler that is located in between the supercharger nose and the main body. This coupler is located inside and once it starts to wear out it will start making a clunk sound. You can replace the coupler, replace the nose, or rebuild the whole supercharger. Check all your accessories pulled by the belt. There are a lot of bearings in these accessories that can cause the " chirping noise".
The supercharger has no battery.
Chirping means the brake pads are worn out. That is a warning device built into the brake pad. Replace the brake pads.
The past tense of replace is replaced.
do not remove your supercharger belt, the engine is set up to work with supercharger. my belt broke on mine and i was told to replace it before i drive it to much
Yes, you can replace the bearing in the cone of a supercharger on a 1993 Pontiac SSEi with a 3.8L engine, but it requires disassembling the supercharger. This involves removing the supercharger from the engine, disassembling it to access the bearings, and then replacing the faulty bearing. It’s important to follow specific procedures and torque specifications during reassembly to ensure proper function. If you're not experienced with such repairs, consulting a professional or referring to a repair manual is recommended.
