I'd vote for the injectors. Try a professional fuel injection cleaning. Occasionally run it up to 3500 rpm for 30 seconds in low gear to keep breaking up the carbon deposits.
on the number 1 injector
Rough idle, low injector pressure Sputtering stalling. lack of power
There are a few symptoms when a car has a bad cam sensor. A few of these are sputtering, poor acceleration, and the engine stalling.
The plug or sensor above the oil filter on a 1996 Cherokee is the oil pressure sending unit. This sensor controls the oil pressure gauge.
above the filter
Check the Crank Sensor on the Bellhousing!
The oil pressure sensor is usually above the oil filter adapter.
The oil sensor is located above the oil filter next to the distributor.
Only models with v6 have such sensor. If you have one of them, you can find the sensor in the hose coming out of the air filter and going to the injector.
The 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee IAT sensor can be found attached to the air intake hose. The IAT sensor will be near the air filter box.
A 2002 Mazda Tribute engine sputtering at startup but smoothing out after running for a while could indicate several issues, such as a faulty fuel injector, clogged fuel filter, or spark plug problems. At startup, the engine may not be receiving the proper fuel-air mixture, leading to sputtering. As the engine warms up, it may compensate for these issues, allowing it to run more smoothly. Additionally, issues with sensors like the mass airflow sensor (MAF) or throttle position sensor (TPS) could also contribute to this behavior.
it is right next to the oil filter
