With usual tools it's almost impossible to do. You need to get the special cv-joint remover many auto part stores have it. It's about $30-40, I believe.

How to pull the transmission in 1997 Honda civic?

You remove the axle nuts and a ball joint to remove the CV axles. Then you remove the shifter linkage. Remove the starter and all the other stuff that's hooked to the tranny. Then you place a jack under the engine. Remove all the bolts holding the tranny and the engine together. Now unhook a couple motor mounts, raise the car up, drop the engine down and slide the tranny out. You do not have to remove the motor to take the engine out. You simply need to take all the bolts out of the tranny that are going into the motor and then remove it from the motor with the motor in the car.

How do you replace a CV joint on a 1993 Mercury Capri XR2?

replace the axel!!! not just the joint. you have to remove the ball joint and the tie rod end. just remove the nut off the bottom of the tie rod end and it shouldn't mess up your alinement. then you have to remove the nut that is under your rim so you must remove your tire. and take that nut off also. and replace the wheel baring also if your going to replace stuff anyway.I think auto zone had a lone a tool program or something to remove the axel from the tranny. it just pops out. its easyer then it looks.

How do you remove a transmission from a Isuzu truck?

1. Get the truck up on ramps and jack stands.. Make sure it's not going anywhere cause neither the e-brake or gears will help you. 2. Disconnect battery. 3. Disconnect the 4wd universal joint and main universal joint. (you will need to move the ebrake cable out of the way so go back into the cab and take the ebrake off. 4. remove the cross member 5. Loosen and remove all the bolts and nuts holding the tranny housing to the engine. 6. Top passenger side will be your last NUT and it's a tuffy. It and the main shaft will hold the tranny up. 7. Position a tranny jack underneath and slide the tranny out. This is rather simplified but it should get you started just fine.

If you only hear it when it is moving, it is the tranny or a bearing. if it does not change pitch when the tranny shifts, it is a wheel bearing or cv joint. if it rumbles when you turn sharp left or right, it is a cv joint.
