YOU ONLY HAVE TO REMOVE THE OIL PAN.
To change the timing chain on a 1998 Lincoln Continental, first disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover. Next, drain the engine coolant and oil, then remove the front engine accessories, including the harmonic balancer. After that, take off the timing chain cover to access the timing chain and sprockets; align the timing marks, remove the old chain, and replace it with the new one. Finally, reassemble the timing cover, accessories, and refill the fluids before reconnecting the battery.
Follow these steps 1. Remove Timing belt & Crank Puly. 2. Remove Timing belt cover. 3. Remove Tensioner and its spring & Remove / Replace timing Belt 4. Align Timing Marks as Carnk pully below and Cam Pully to top Mark. 5. Assemble all parts and Enjoy. Regards Ehsan ehsanwah@yahoo.com
You will have to remove the drive belts from the front/ side of engine along with vibration pulley dampener, and accessory drive, then remove timing cover assembly and you will expose the timing belt, ensure that you sent your timing marks and TDC before removing and replacing timing belt, ensure not to rotate engine while timing belt is removed and re assemble in reverse order.
The timing belt is under the front engine cover. Access is somewhat difficult. To get at the belt, you will need to remove all the accessory belts, and the A/C belt tensioner. You will need to raise the car, remove the right front wheel and splash shield for access. You will need to remove the crank pulley. This will require a special tool which you will either have to buy or fabricate, unless you have an air ratchet large enough to get the crank pulley nut off, which will be very tight. Once that is off you can remove the timing cover and get at the timing belt.
To remove the timing chain on a Datsun 620, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access, such as the radiator and front timing cover. Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft to ensure proper timing during reinstallation. Then, remove the tensioner and guide, followed by the chain itself. Finally, carefully take off the sprockets, if necessary, to fully detach the timing chain from the engine.
The water pump on the 3.0iter is behind the front engine cover,on the passenger side on the van. You have to support the engine and remove the top engine mount and then remove the power steering pump and altenator. then you have to remove the mounting bracket on the engine and you will have access to the timing belt covers. remove the timing belt covers and belts and you will then have access to the water pump. Just a lettle hint. while you are doing the water pump you shoud replace the timing belts and the automatic tensioner for the timing belts. good luck!! Replacing the timing chain on a 2010 Malibu with a 2.4-liter engine involves several steps. First, disconnect the battery and remove components obstructing access to the timing chain cover, such as the intake manifold and engine mount. After draining the engine oil and coolant, remove the timing chain cover to access the timing chain and sprockets. Align the timing marks, remove the old chain and sprockets, and install the new timing chain, ensuring everything is properly timed before reassembling the engine.
To install a timing chain in a 2000 Lincoln LS with a 3.0L engine, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Remove the front cover and any components obstructing access to the timing chain, then align the timing marks on the camshaft and crankshaft gears. Install the new timing chain, ensuring the marks are correctly aligned, and reassemble all components in the reverse order of disassembly. Finally, double-check the alignment before starting the engine.
support the engine on a floor jack, remove the motor mount on the right side, clear access to and remove the timing cover, remove the timing belt. Water pump is under the timing belt. Replace the water pump and reassemble. It is strongly reccommended that you install a new timing belt.
The ignition timing is non-adjustable. It is strickly electronic, and you cannot change it. The valve timing is controlled by the timing belt. If it has jumped time, you have to remove the timing cover to access the belt, replace it, and set it to the correct specifications.
To replace the timing chain on a Nissan Altima, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the timing cover, such as the air intake and accessory belts. Then, drain the engine oil and coolant, and remove the timing cover bolts to access the timing chain. Carefully align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft gears, remove the old chain, and install the new one, ensuring proper tension and alignment. Finally, reassemble all components, refill fluids, and reconnect the battery.
the timing mark is on the pullie itself its a small notch .... to get to your timing belt you have to remove the belts, motor mount, and the pullies, then remove the plastic cover then you can access your timing belt .... it looks worse than it really it
